Marketing from the Roosevelt Room began as a Facebook group in 2018.
Our host, Kyle Willis, is a cigar aficionado who has built some incredible relationships with the cigar communities through Facebook. He wanted to create a bridge though for those who know Kyle as the “cigar guy” to get to know what truly fuels Kyle’s passions and interests: digital marketing.
Kyle would sit in the Roosevelt Room at his local cigar lounge and map out new business plans, marketing strategies, website interfaces, all while smoking a good cigar and sometimes a stiff drink.
He started turning on the camera and recoding quick “how to” videos or random conversations about whatever he was working on at the time. Here was our intro video:
They were a good start, but Kyle and his wife had a little girl enter the world a bit early in April 2018 and he had to put the videos on hold while he took some paternity leave. As he returned to work, his digital marketing agency, No to the Quo, was needing his full focus with an influx of new clients, projects, and changes in the company.
Knowing he had a good thing going with what began in the Facebook group and having so much more to offer his audience, he resurrected the group in February 2019 and turned it into the podcast we know today.
